Prestil Energy is pleased to share another important milestone for the MPC Method (Multistage Physico-Chemical Method) in Pakistan. According to officially published information by Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), oil production from the Kal-03 well in District Chakwal increased from approximately 50 barrels of oil per day to around 750 BPD following a workover campaign that included MPC treatment and ESP installation.
For our team, this result is especially important because Kal-03 was not simply a routine stimulation candidate. The well represented one of the many mature field challenges that operators across the region continue to face today — declining productivity, restricted reservoir flow, and limited effectiveness of conventional approaches over time.
The MPC treatment was performed as part of a broader well intervention program focused on restoring communication between the wellbore and the reservoir, improving conductivity in the near-wellbore zone, and enhancing hydrocarbon mobility within the formation. The final production result, officially disclosed by OGDCL through public company announcements and stock exchange reporting, demonstrates the significant potential of advanced stimulation technologies when applied to technically challenging wells.
This success also follows previous positive MPC operations in Pakistan, including the PSK-7 well, where noticeable production enhancement was achieved after treatment. Together, these projects continue to strengthen the practical field history of the MPC Method under real operating conditions in mature reservoirs.
Pakistan remains one of the most technically interesting and strategically important regions for production enhancement technologies. Many producing assets in the country face issues related to reservoir tightness, near-wellbore contamination, organic deposition, and declining natural productivity. In such environments, technologies capable of restoring reservoir conductivity and improving fluid flow can play an important role in extending the productive life of existing fields.
We would like to thank OGDCL and all participating teams for their cooperation, professionalism, and trust throughout the project execution process. Prestil Energy continues to work on additional candidate evaluations and future MPC applications in Pakistan as part of its ongoing commitment to reservoir stimulation and production optimization.
